Did You Know? St. Patrick was English?!
This fact lends something to the concept that ANYONE can be Irish, if only on March 17th.
St Patrick was born circa 350AD in England. At the age of 16 he was kidnapped by Irish pirates and forced to tend sheep in Ireland for six years. After escaping and returning home to England, he converted to Christianity, studied in Europe and returned to Ireland and converted Ireland to Christianity.
What a busy exciting month March is, with daylight savings time, St Patrick’s Day, first day of Spring, Easter and March Madness all in one month! Lots of birthdays this month too, including our own Rachel Murany and two of my children. I love this time of year, seeing all the flowers bloom and the babies being born. I feel so much more energetic and productive as the days grow longer. What about you? I hope everyone has a wonderful month of celebrations with their friends and families!
