Did anyone fool you this month? – Laughter is good for the soul!

Here is a bit of fun April Fools history.

This famous tradition has been popular since the 19th Century all over the country. Even Newspapers, Radio and TV stations as well as Web sites get have been known to go to great lengths to create elaborate April Fools’ Day hoaxes. Here are some good ones. In 1957, the BBC reported that Swiss farmers were experiencing a record spaghetti crop and showed footage of people harvesting noodles from trees; numerous viewers were fooled. In 1985, Sports Illustrated tricked many of its readers when it ran a made-up article about a rookie pitcher named Sidd Finch who could throw a fastball over 168 miles per hour. In 1996, Taco Bell, the fast-food restaurant chain, duped people when it announced it had agreed to purchase Philadelphia’s Liberty Bell and intended to rename it the Taco Liberty Bell. In 1998, after Burger King advertised a “Left-Handed Whopper,” scores of clueless customers requested the fake sandwich.

Employee Spotlight

This month’s Employee Spotlight is our Data Entry Lead, Lien Vo-Tran. Lien has been with Mail Management Group since 2009 when she left Ad Mail due to the company’s closure in Gillespie Field. In spite of the fact that Lien has been working in data entry for over 18 years, says she “never gets bored!” She enjoys being in her office with her headphones on, keying away. She truly loves her work and always has a smile on her face. Lien is known in the office as the candy lady because she always keeps a candy dish filled by her desk with tasty chocolates which makes everyone else smile too! She is such a sweetheart!
